  it has often been said that the jw organisation of today is far, far different to the organisation that ct russell set up, both in beliefs and teachings as well as administration.

  i've even heard it said that if ctr were alive today, he would be disfellowshipped for all manner of 'offences' as proscribed by the modern-day wts!

  so, if it were possible for you to ask ctr just one question, what would it be?

  I was told it was so that the "plate" did'nt have to be passed! but now we pass the plate all the time and no one really cares or sees who is giving... just a thought... Biddie

  Biddie, I have never heard of a plate being passed in the KHs. Is this isolated or are all the KHs doing this? Triple A.

  this is a question i have had for over 13 years, since i first found out that rutherford had a house, named beth sarim, built for him in san diego.

  where did the money come from for the 100 acres of land the house was situated upon, and for the design and construction of the house?

  in the proclaimer's book, it is said that a "direct contribution" was made for the house.

  I'm probably wrong, but the way I always understood it was that Beth Sarim was meant for the faithful men of old to reside in upon their return to earth. Then, when they didn't return when the GB thought they would, Rutherford lived in it, rather than to have it sit empty. Again, I might be wrong, but this has always been my understanding of Beth Sarim.

  Actually, the faithful men of old were suppose to return in 1925 and Beth Sarim was built in 1929. So it seems rather obvious that the men of old were used by the Society as a rouse to be able to built this mansion and get Rutherford out of New York.

  Can not say that there are no mistakes, but of the numerous quotes that I have personally check they have been word for word. That is true for quotes both new and old.
